An Admission Of Sorts
For as much as Avalanche fans hate anything and everything related to the Detroit Red Wings (including their nasty, brutish fan base), I do have to admit something. Red Wings fans don't flame Avalanche blogs nearly as much as Avs fans flame Wings blogs (look for "Thomas" in the comments section). Good lord.
I think Avalanche fans should strive to be as civil as possible when discussing the Wings---especially when visiting the comments sections of Wings blogs or while trolling Wings-oriented message boards. Take the high ground.
But rest assured, valiant readers, that I will not stray from my creed as an Avalanche fan: the Dead Wings suck and I hate them forever, amen.
Now play nice.

Hatred dwindling
My loathing for the Red Wings has subsided throughout the years. I think the fact the Avs haven't seen them in the playoffs has a role in this, in addition, to the Avs roster being nearly coverhauled since the rivalry and most of the key figures in it are either retired/switched teams. The only that really gets on my nerves is the fact that they get to play in the shittiest division each season and with the schedule still being fucked up favors them to an almost guaranteed playoff spot because they get to play three cellar teams 9 times during the regular season. It may be four this season with the Predators getting fire sold.

Re: Hatred dwindling
It must be said that, while it's true that the Wings benefit from playing in a ridiculously weak division, they did make it to the Western Conference Finals this past season. They were still a very strong team from top to bottom. Of course, playing in a weak division ensured they'd make the playoffs, but they went the distance on their own merits.
That said, they still suck. F'em.
oh, it gets better
to be fair, if that's the Thomas I think it is (and I'd bet decent money it is), he's equally critical of the Avs and their fans.
his first comment at ITCS, he called me "lazy and uninformed". let's say he's half-right - you pick which half.
and then when Dario made the mistake of "fellating" Joe Sakic, Thomas mentioned that he was "looking forward to the day Sakic finally retires". And he's an Avs fan. So, he's not exactly showing bias in those Red Wings posts.
He certainly seems to have his own opinion of stuff, and isn't afraid to go against the grain.
PS I have two confessions. I actually kind of like the Wings. And I don't know how to spell fellating. Not that I have much use for it, you know?

Same guy?
That's the same guy who told me Joe Sakic was a horrible captain? Yeesh, he's really got his finger on the pulse of hockey does Thomas.
Re: Same guy
I wonder how long it will take him to notice this thread (he seems to be a blog butterfly) and start posting here as well. I think his diary entries would make for some really great reading.
Perhaps
If by "really great reading" you mean "evidence for the prosecution at his mental health hearing" you're probably right...
What we need to do...
Is make this guys comments a monthly feature or something.
My favorite from the link you posted:
"...morbidly obese puck whores you see at the rink wearing Yzerman jerseys."
Good times...
Re: What we need to do
Maybe he could do a monthly post on this blog and really stir up some shit.
Mile High Hockey is nothing if not a blender of feces.
