If not Q, then who?
Let me start off by clarifying that I am very much a part of the "Fire Quenneville" bandwagon. I don't think that this team has any hope of going anyhere but down as long as he is coach. However, I have no idea who could replace him. Is there a great, unemployed coach out there somewhere? Should we give overlook 2004 and give Granato another chance as the head man? Perhaps Saint Patrick could come kick the team in its collective rear? What are your thoughts on this?

good question
There's not really that many good options out there.
Granato is not the answer. He's part of the problem here. Same for Cloutier.
Other names that have been tossed around include Pat Burns and Bryan Trottier. I always liked Trottier, and he never got a fair chance in New York. Maybe him? Pat Burns I don't know much about, but he did win a cup...
The other name looking like it might be available is Torterella from TB. I like him a lot -- he 's got lots of fire, and he's getting close to taking the fall for some poor managerial decisions (i.e. creating a one line team). He would bring a good uptempo style to the Avs, so I think he's my choice if Q gets fired. But he's not available just yet.
There's always a bunch of up and coming minor league/college coaches too. Taking a chance on one of them might be a good idea too.
Lindy Ruff
We joked about kidnapping him earlier but hell... if Buffalo doesn't snap out of it he could be out of a job as well. (Although I think they will have patience with him). You never know with a franchise that didn't sign Briere or Drury back on. They might be crazy enough to fire Ruff.
Re: Lindy Ruff
I'm also in the Ruff camp, obviously. I think Buffalo will have patience, though, since they know they lost a ton of offensive talent during the offseason and will need at least another free agency/draft period to get the team fully stocked again.
But if he decides to quit for some reason, the Avs should hire Ruff in a second.
Another name
for a coach that has gotten boned over by management is Maurice in Toronto. He was doomed from that start. Any team that tells Scotty Bowman that "...on second thought, we don't really need your help," has serious issues in management.
