Random open game thread: Caps vs 'Hawks

Got some free time and decided to watch Caps vs Blackhawks. We pick it up 2-2 with 4:00 left in the 2nd...

From what i've seen Theo has been better than he was in game one.. but not great. He just gave up a juicy rebound that Chi put off the post, and prbably should have buried.

I'm just interested in seeing Ovechkin, Toews, Kane, as well as how the two "big" goalie FA's are adjusting. Especially Theo since that's how Budaj's going to be compared to.

PP-Chi

Chicago gets a PP as a Chi player is taken down in open ice in the Washington zone. a puck came off the wall near the blueline and two Caps looked at each other, apparently confused as to who was going to try and play the puck.

They decided to let the Chicago player go for it, and take him down instead… probably not the wisest move.

Theo makes a “save” on a weak shot from the slot as the period ends. 1:30 left on the PP to start the 3rd.

That goal was in. Replay shows it clearly. Puck crossed the line and so did Khabby’s glove.

Fast game here in the third. These guys are either skating their butts off or I haven’t watched hockey in a while. The Avs sure didn’t look this fast. I’m sure they were but sometimes the vantage point from down low is not the best.

You know, people complain about Altitude’s homerism, FSN Minnesota I think takes the cake though. They make Altitude look like they hate the Avs.

I can’t find a picture of it but it looked like the Wild old third jerseys but State of Hockey was written in the circle and the jersey was white. Meh.

Sounds too random for a nhl third. Plus from what i’ve heard they’re not releasing one till next year so why advertise now. Probably just merchandise they’re trying to sell.

I am jazzed that the NHL Network is showing HNIC this season. I don’t need NHL Center Ice when I get the Avs locally PLUS HNIC! The NHL Network is part of my regular package on DirecTV.
