PrintI'll be watching some hockey tonight, probably, so i thought i'd throw this open and see if anyone else joins.
Washington plays Vancouver? (do i have to cheer for Theo?)

Chicago and Nashville
Nj and the Rangers
and Montreal and Philly.
I don't get home until about 6:00 mountain, but i'll join in when i get home... unless the jibblewife unloads some chores or something on me.

I wish I had gotten to see the Islanders-Sabres game today. 1-7 Sabres, and a huge amount of penalties, 150 minutes to be exact.

Reminds me of his move last year on the Avs, but doing the exact same thing to the Preds.. except Ellis stops it for the preds (seriously amazing move there). He does draw a penalty though.. Hawks going back on the PP.

What does everyone think of the new black jerseys?

for carolina’s. i like them. i really like their secondary logo (they should just make it their prime logo). And it looks good on the black.
I don’t like the trend of black jerseys.. there’s too many of them. They could have had a spiffy 2nd red jersey or something. A lot of teams have black and it’s just not necessary.

I don’t like the black trend either. I think Dallas’ black jerseys look like a long sleeve basketball jersey, very plain and boring. I don’t know what Atlanta was thinking either when they decided to go with the same style with just a little more color.

I hated Dallas’s jerseys for the same reason, especially after they had nice pre Edge jerseys, anyone siing a connection here? My biggest worry is if they release a white DALLAS 3rd that will quickly replace the current, slightly less fugly, away jersey.
Atlanta completely dropped the ball. They should have stayed with their original home and away jerseys and left the powder blue as a third and brought them over to teh Edge, or made their new third a maroon version of their away jersey.

I know hockey is an aggressive sport but enough with the red already. It always reminds me of the Wings no matter what team is wearing red and it makes me angry.

I really like them, i also liked their pre Edge home jersey as well. The storm flags on the bottom are really unique, kinda like the Avs mountains before RBK came along and f’ed evrything up.

There are a few good ones out there. I think that Ralph Strangis and Daryl Reaugh are the best announcing tandem in the NHL. And I HATE the Dallas Stars, but catch myself watching their broadcasts because of them.

red wing fans are from michigan. they just live elsewhere. they love living in colorado especially but also lots of other places . they like being able to personally taunt the opposing team’s fans.

The geometric print around the bottom of the jerseys are what gets me. It’s awful.
Speaking of jerseys, my jerseys are still quarantined in Detroit. Customs refuses to let them through and keeps request more and more documentation. Damn Wings Fans.

Hockey announcers
I find they are the best in sports, because they ahve to be on their game all game. Some of them suck, but, in general, they are good. Play-by-Play guys especially.
Color guys aren’t as talented though.
Exhibit A: Red Wings color guy (there’s not a bigger whiner in all of hockey announcing..) I am 1/2 convinced the reason wings fans are the way they are, is brain washing from that idiot.
Exhibit B: Calgary color guy – guy is frcking awful. Another homer and whiner.
Exhibit C: Wild color guy – Like calgary’s, without the annying voice

I’ve seen it in the single digits in Las Vegas, but it’s rare. We usually get lows in the 20-30’s. This week it been in the 40’s at night.

Just got home
from an Aeros game. If the Avs are in the market for an backup goalie, they should give Minnesota a call and inquire about the availability of Nolan Schaefer. He was the best goalie in the AHL last year, and he has no future in Minnesota. I believe he’s 29, so he’s not exactly a prospect anymore, but he can really play.

I’d like to reiterate the part of my post that was apparently overlooked.

I’m one of Budaj’s biggest fans and I don’t think there’s any need to worry about him. He’ll be fine.
I’m just a big fan of Schaefer and he definitely belongs in the NHL, and if Raycroft is as awful as Leafs fans have made him out to be, then there are some options out there.
