I don’t care what the team says (according to a Frei story today, SFW), I still want someone to beat the living crap out of Bertuzzi. The fact that nobody has is just flat out wrong.

The fact that he’s allowed to play in the NHL is wrong. His punishment was a sham, and he’s been allowed to go on making an extremely good living for himself as if nothing ever happened. He should have been banned from playing professional hockey (if that’s even possible to do? Certainly the NHL). Every sport has a certain player’s code, and I’m pretty sure it’s always been understood that you DO NOT END ANOTHER PLAYER’S CAREER. Everytime I think about him, I want to personally harm him while his tearful “apology” plays on a loudspeaker overhead. Unbelievable that people have taken a “Eh, that was a long time ago, get over it” approach to the situation. Probably because Steve Moore wasn’t a star player.

My response
is “if you’re brother had his neck broken by a cowardly attack from behind, would you say the same thing?”
I don’t care for the W. I want to see Bertha and Phadouche lined up against Parker. Unlikely, as he’s currently kicking ass in the AHL. So I’ll settle for Lappy and the McC’s.
Maybe Sakic wants to have another go at punching the living crap out of someone.
26 Card Jet
I would love nothing more than to see Sakic check Phadouche into the boards. I’m thinking a nice photo, like the recent one of Tucker, insert Phadouche.
Oh, now THAT would make a great background
Is this good for now?

I chose this one because it was the longest one.
Good thing to watch right before the game.
SFW or NSFW? ;) Or just FW, as many of us say.

I'm pumped for this
But as always, it’s not on TV, so I’m relegated to the internet for helping me watch/listen to it.
I need to invest in NHL Gamecentre.
You really should.
20 bucks is a little much, I agree, but it comes with a FULL REPLAY ARCHIVE. I watch tons of Avs games now and occasionally will drop in on Eastern Conference teams I don’t usually get to see a lot of to familiarize myself with them. And to stalk Jay Bouwmeester.
by A.J. Haefele on Oct 28, 2008 5:29 PM MDT up reply actions
It’s only 20 bucks per season? That’s not that expensive…. Unless it’s per month, then yeah that’s a bit much.
Go Avs!
by Mike, (Avs Fan) on Oct 28, 2008 6:18 PM MDT up reply actions
Yeah
It’s a month. You can pay one sum of money, I forgot the price now, for the package for the season that was probably less than what you’ll pay with 20 bucks every month for the entire season.
by A.J. Haefele on Oct 28, 2008 6:25 PM MDT up reply actions
Sucks
my 20 per month was done in their pre-season deal. I totally forgot about that. My bad =/

I just turned on the Montreal game to check in on a couple teams I never watch and lo and behold…the feed is in French!
Is the Versus feed for the Avs game
Showing Devils right now? Wanna make sure I’m tuning into the right online feed for it.
ooooo...I see
The online feed I checked is showing Philly and Atlanta. The Colorado game is supposed to be on afterward.

The Avs Kitty
Is completely NAKED and ready for the game.
Go Avs!
(Heard Engblom on Versus or NHL Channel last night say, “Watch out, the Avalanche is the most underestimated team in the league.” Woo!)
Hair
I’m so proud of Brian. Though I secretly used to look forward to seeing his bizarre mullet wig thang, he actually looks really good now. I’d bet money his wife gave him an ultimatum.
Ahaha
I like that theory. I think it has definite potential.
by A.J. Haefele on Oct 28, 2008 7:10 PM MDT up reply actions
I saw that too. I was great to hear but Engblom is also an Avs homer. At this point in time, though, he is right. No one expected us to be 4th in the west (just under Detroit I believe).

you guys see the post in the GDT at hf?
Some guy ran into guite and tjarny at the mall — both are scratched tonight, btw — and told them he wished Guite played on the 3rd instead of Arny to laughs and agreement from the players. hilarious.
Wooow
If that’s true, not only is it funny, but it makes his presence in the lineup all the more baffling.

No
I couldn’t get myself to watch it. I saw Fantastic Four and hated both of those, and I saw that movie about the guy who was having surgery and she was his girlfriend or something, and I hated her in that. I saw that Into The Blue piece of trash with Paul Walker that was basically intended to sell because it featured “beautiful people” in very little clothing. She’s just awful.

The Avs docs need to check Clark for a pulse. He’s redunkulously calm with the puck, even when he has Flame-outs surrounding him.

Yeah, Clark is looking good this game. Blocked shots, good puck handling. What more can you ask of a D?

The Altiboobs keep going on and on how stellar the defenses have been tonight. They apparently can announce with thier eyes closed because the Flames have had some ridiculously high quality chances (especially in the 1st) but a combination of a well-positioned Boots and Flame-outs who can’t hit the broadside of a barn have kept a gooseegg on the board. Even that ‘rebound’ save for Boots was dicey cuz it was an odd-man rush that should never have happened. Nobody picked up the trailer, and Wolski was the closest guy to the slot. Where were the D?
Also, the Av’s D keeps activating to push the puck down low, but nobody shoots when they get there, they just dump in behind the net, usually turning it over because the forwards aren’t there yet.
