Brian Willsie Recalled

Brian Willsie has been recalled from Lake Erie.

The Avs are already at the 23-man roster limit, so there has to be another move coming here - either one of the injured players is going on IR (Guite?) or someone is going to Cleveland (Jones?).

Marek Svatos is okay and the last we knew Joe Sakic was close, so these move seems more an attempt to add some effort to the ice than an injury fill-in.

Also,

Granato also said that forward Ben Guite (ribs) will not make the upcoming trip and remains out indefinitely. Guite did not take the ice for practice this morning.

Is Willsie gonna be fighting for Tyler “it’s not fair you’re all trying to take my spot” Arnason’s roster spot, or is TG maybe gonna sit SoS for lack of effort? I’d bench Budaj as he clearly can’t score goals.

We’re all going to die.

Go Avs! Let's get some goals!

Arnason demoted ..so far

Arny was skating in the 5th line center spot during practice according to the paper edition of the RMN.

I’ll cross my fingers, but I won’t hold my breath.

Now and then we had the hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be PIRATES.

at this point in the season I’m actually wondering why he’s skating at all. Thanks Chicago, for your great drafting and trading.
You got us by the short hairs.

Actually

Ottawa gave a player and a second round draft pick to get Arnason. After 19 games, zero goals, and 4 assists, they gladly let him walk and guess who swooped in to sign him? /sigh

I would rather have Guite then Arny but..

From the Avs site:

In a related move, the Avalanche placed center Ben Guite on injured reserve (ribs) retroactive to November 10.
