I like the fact
they had Price and Halak help him lift his jersey to the rafters and had little peewee goalies in the jerseys of the other french canadien goalies. Because Roy had so much to do with them in his career.
I’m actually not sure if i’m being sarcastic or not, they were great ideas but probably not thought out fully, the kids dressed as goalies should have been wearing some of Roy’s old jerseys. not other goalies.

I get the goalie jersey thing. The Canadians seemed to do a good job with the ceremony. I was lol’ing Luc Robataille as he was never Roy’s teammate on the Avs or any other NHL team that I know.

I found the Robitaille thing weird because i was sure he’d never played with Roy either. The goalie jersey thing i got as well but i still think it would have been better to have them wear jerseys from Roys career like his junior team, The Granby Bisons and then maybe some differnt Habs jerseys if they had changes during his career with them, but having Giguere, Luongo and Brodeur jerseys on the ice seemed weird, almost like they were celebrating goalies that came from teh Montreal area more so than they were celebrating Roy’s career with them.

I think they were more likely celebrating Roy’s contribution to the position and the inspiration he provided to thousands of French-Canadian boys and girls to grow up to be just like St. Patty. You have to remember, he REVOLUTIONIZED the position. He wasn’t the first butterfly goalie, but he is universally regarded as the first NHL’er to use it, perfect it, and succeed with it.

I think I read that Robitaille was the player that had had the most success against Roy and that is why he was included.
