The Avalanche visit the Minnesota Wild tonight at the Xcel Energy Center. The Wild have been quite good this year. The Avs? Not so much. The Wild's leading goal scorer is this guy. You might remember him; he used to play for the Avs, but they let him go this summer so they could sign this guy. He doesn't lead the Avs in goals, but he's got the Avs' lone goal against the Wild this year. He's also on the IR.

The Wild are just 20th best in the league in scoring, although I believe that's better than 28th. That's the best news. The Wild are also ranked 2nd in goals against (vs 15th for the Avs) and 2nd on the PP (21st for Colorado). Meanwhile, or 18th ranked PP will go up against the best PK in the league. Happy Monday.

EDIT: This just in - the folks at TSN didn't watch the playoffs last year.

I gave away three free tix to watch the Kings-Leafs game to stay home for this game. In my defense: (1) I get free Kings tix all the time and (2) it’s the Kings people. I stand by it being a positive love-fest for the Avs.

Boods gave up a rebound but why was no Avs defense shadowing Bouchard ready to level him when he got near the puck.

Transformers was pretty cool. Shia LeBouf was pretty good in that, as well as Eagle Eye. I vary between thinking he’s a douche and thinking he’s not. As for Megan she didn’t really have to do any acting, just look hot and wear small clothing, altough the acting she did was shocking. I’m sick of having the chicks in movies being all tough and rebellious. Screw female empowerment.

When I first saw it

I went in thinking it wasn’t going to be at all related to the Transformers I grew up with, so I really enjoyed it. When I saw it again, Megan Fox’s mere inclusion in the film was baffling, but I like the job Shia did in it. I think he’s a typical young, Hollywood star. He just happens to be in some movies I like (I love love love the book “Holes”, so the movie was naturally awesome for me). You’re right in that she didn’t have much to do, but when she took a stab at the little work she was given, she fell flat on her face.

When i watched i was like, “this is awesome, I can see why everyone made a huge fuss about it” but the second time I think I fell asleeps towards the end, I do that frequently, doesn’t help that I watched it at about 11:30 at night after playing sport all day.

Not when they can’t act and look like pampered princesses. If you’re gonna have a tough chick then don’t have them come out with perfect hair and makeup. Same goes for “Bro Hymn” by pennywise, its a great song with a great message, especially the tribute one to Jason Mathew Thirsk but so many sport teams use it. Bothe the Ducks and Flyers use it as their goal song.

i hate arena’s that don’t have a LOUD ASS goal horn! I think The Can has one of the best goal horns in the league. The only other 2 that I think compare in decibel level are The Air Canada Centre in Toronto and American Airlines Center in Dallas.
