Milan - The Avs will not wear a third jersey this season. There are a lot of logistical issues with teams wearing them, more than you might think. So, that's partly why they aren't wearing them this year. It creates more logistics for the visiting team.
The Avs say they will wear them again next season. And, yes, I agree it would be nice to incorporate some kind of Quebec connection on them -- although I wouldn't go so far as to wear their pure light blue old colors

What logistical problems are there for the visiting team. They’ll still wear their road whites even if we play our unipron a third or a practice jersey, which incidentally looks better than our uniprons. How badly can we ruin the look of our old thirds.

Didn’t we end up wearing our white jerseys at home against Chicago(?) because they were wearing their third? I remember it was a home game because I didn’t notice the white jerseys as being out of the ordinary because that’s how it’s supposed to be.

Yeah we did, I have no idea why but that seems the exception to third jerseys. Most are worn at home and therefore the away team would bring their whites anyway.

Depends on whether they make the third jersey just another version of the hideous Unipron or not.

You would think they’d just make minor changes to the old third without doing anything drastic, although they said the same thing about the unipron.

I personally never liked the Avs third jersey to begin with. As long as they don’t come out with another black monstrosity like other teams, it hopefully can’t be any worse.

It looked nice but with our logo and mountain design I couldn’t really see anything over than the diagonal look working. the bigfoot would be a shocking primary logo and we don’t really even have another colour we could use besides reversing the maroon and blue.

They aren’t wearing it right now because it’s their lucky jersey – you know, the one that inspires them to play a full 60 minute game, score goals, support their #1 goalie, all those mundane things. They are saving it for the playoffs.
