Before he can join the Sharks, Pepe has to clear waivers. Should the Avalanche pick him up?
My mind's telling me no, but my man crush is saying F yes.

I honestly have no idea on how he plays now, but I definitely hope the Avs scouts have and they know what to do. If he clears waivers and turns into a beast in the NHL I might cry.
And regarding the minimum post count, just make it a fanshot. That’s what links and short things are for.

pick him up
What do we have to lose? I’m sure he’ll make the league minimum. Plus, just think how pissed off all the loser Red Wing fans will be!!!
Keeping my fingers away from all moving parts since 2007
I doubt he’ll be making league minimum. If he can play again, and shockingly so far even to his biggest fan (me), he has shown that he can, he is a 4 time Stanley Cup winner. His name is on the Conn Smythe. He is 9th, in playoff goals scored ALL TIME. Hence, Claude is a monster for any team that makes the playoffs. I have no doubts that Claude is returning for reasons other than money, but I don’t think he or the Sharks believe he is worth the minimum.
Claude plays for the Canadians, they win a Cup.
Gets traded to the Devils…. they win a Cup
Gets traded to the Avs…. they win a Cup (that season)
Gets traded back to the Devils… they win another Cup (that season)
Only 8 players in the history of hockey have scored more goals in the playoffs than Lemieux. That is an amazing stat. Those players are: Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Jari Kuri, Brett Hall, Glen Anderson, Mike Bossy, Maurice Richard, and Joe Sakic. Claude is the only player on that list who isn’t consider a skill, finesse, or goal scoring player by any stretch of the imagination. The dude just wants it more than anybody.
Any team who isn’t willing to take a shot on a player with those accomplishments belongs in rehab. Even if he is a step slower that most of the other guys, that never stopped him from being amazingly clutch before.
