Canucks Acquire LaBarbera

I lol'd.

Hard.

Hopefully they send Schneider back to the AHL and LaBarbera sends them on a tailspin.

Wow, They must be desperate. I was under the impression the back up, who used to have a sandman on his mask, his name escapes me although i want to say Garon but I think he’s Edmonton, was decent enough to covr for Captain Luongo.

I know LaBarbera isn’t the greatest of goalies but Wow, they pick him up for nothing more than a 7th round pick?
I guess the Kings were ready to be rid of him?

I was saying to a friend last night, “Imagine how he must feel getting traded for only a low round draft pick in return??” Ouch.

When hell freezes over, I'll play hockey there too!

Not only that

but he’s basically going to be back to fighting to stay in the NHL. The job with the Kings was fairly cushy for a while there because his primary competition was young talent who wasn’t ready yet. Now, he’s going to be under the gun a little bit just to stay in the league.

Let’s face it though, he struggled to stay up with the Kings at times the last couple of years. He was given his shot, didn’t pan out, but they had nothing else.

The best part about all of this is that the ‘Nuck fans are now getting the Avalanche treatment where management is not telling the whole story about injuries, so fans have to read between the lines of an acquisition like this. Bottom line: Luongo isn’t “close” to coming back from his groin pull.

Clearly, the joke is on us:

Acquired from the Kings in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick earlier in the week, LaBarbera made his Canucks debut Thursday and stopped 31 of the 32 shots he faced in a tight 2-1 victory over Nashville. The Burnaby-born goalie withstood a 17-shot barrage in the second period and a late Predators flurry to improve to 6-8-4 on the season. They weren’t exactly sorry to see Labs go in Los Angeles, but for at least a day he showed signs of providing a stable bridge to the return of Roberto Luongo.

Vancouvers on the ball.

I’m much to lazy to try and resize and post the pic and my few attempts failed miserably so heres the link

Spot the difference between LaBarbar and the other canuck.

LaBabby’s pants are black? I think the Canuck trainer should be fired. They HAVE to have some practice shells lying around that would fit his pants.

A bit sloppy, but We’re not allowed to complain as long as nobody’s figured out what Rayzor’s mask is all about.

I actually don’t mind his mask as much as i used to. They showed a few close ups and it’s got polar bears on the side and flows kinda well IMO, Obviously its not this mask
