Just Throwin' This Out There...
The Avs currently need depth at forward and somebody who can win faceoffs. How about a guy with the following going for him:
- Led the NHL in faceoff win percentage (64.33%) in 2007-08 for the 8th consecutive season
- This mystery man has averaged 30+ points a season during his NHL career
- He was an All-Star in 2007
- He's averaged 66 games a season over the last 5 years
- He's one of my favorite under-rated players.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I'm talking about Yanic Perreault.

He's a UFA, so no need to find a trading partner and the Avs have the cap space and a need at center with Super Joe on the shelf.. Pierre LeBrun thinks it's a good idea!
Thoughts? Better ideas?

I’ve always liked Perreault, and have always been intrigued by “specialists” who focus primarily on being good at just one specific role. In his case, it’s faceoffs, and he’s definitely amazing at them.
And even though he’s a free agent and doesn’t have to be traded for anyone, can we trade Arnason for him? Is that possible?
Go Avs! Let's get some goals!
I guess it's better than Arnason...
…but slightly less exciting than Turgeon.

Thibault is in Limbo. You gotta think he would be a better backup than Rayzor.

Do it...
YP would be good. He made 1.5 last year, according to nhlnumbers.com.
We have quite a bit of Cs on the team, would this bump Guite or Arnason?…
GO AVS
Well, considering Guite is out with broken ribs, I’d say Arnason is the only one fearing for his job. If Yanic got signed. Which he won’t.
Go Avs! Let's get some goals!
Arnason is not fearing for his job
This guy has nothing to fear. He’s been scratched once. For some reason, he’s like a cat…with multiple lives. Nobody knows why his hockey life hasn’t ended…

Eh.
Yanni would be a decent pickup, but I don’t see this team going anywhere anyway.
Yes, there is a lot of hockey left, yada yada yada, the possibility of the Avs’ sneaking into the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed exists. And Elvis and Jesus could both come back to Earth fused as one person, shaking his hips and preaching the good word.
This season is a write-off, take the lumps, give as many Monsters NHL experience as possible and make solid choices on draft day. Hannan, Foote and several others may want to go play for a cup contender in a few months. If so, I’ll gladly help them back their bags to bring in some good prospects.

No Panic Yanic
How can you not love a guy with that nickname & if he can bump Arny’s ass of the end of the bench, it’s fine by me.
