Vrbata goes home
Former Coyotes Avalanche Winger Radim Vrbata will leave the Tampa Bay Lightning and head back to his home in the Czech Republic to finish out the season there. He was waived on Monday and cleared waivers.

In other news.....
Chris gratton also was place on waivers. This makes two former avs who will not be lighting us up when we play against them. Thank god.
I blame it all on my goalie
Re: Gratton
I’m sure there’s a job for a road pylon out there somewhere. Man I hated that guy during his brief stint with the Avs.
On the other hand, I thought Vrbata was doing pretty well with the ’yotes prior to this season? Wonder what happened?

I actually, since my last post here, read up on the story, and Vrbata had a breakout year with the ’Yotes last year, got a 3 year 3M/Y contract offered by the lightning and started underperforming. His contract is the main reason nobody wants him and his stats are not looking too sexy:
GP G A P +/- PIM PPG SHG GWG GTG SOG PCT
Radim Vrbata 18 3 3 6 -1 8 1 0 0 0 41 7.3
26 Card Jet
I read he wasn’t enjoying himself, coupled with his points drought and wanted to go back home for the rest of the year to recharge his batteries.

I for one could recharge a lot of batteries for 3M/year. Wtf Radim?

So we’ll snatch up Toronto’s sloppy seconds but not Tampa’s…
I still would rather have him than Arnason and/or Tucker…
