Tales of the Tape: vs. Chicago Blackhawks 2/17/08
Just a quick one for the Avs game against the Blackhawks.
At 8:58 in the first period, Cody McLeod exchanged words with Chicago's Adam Burish, the gloves flew, and a blink later, it's all over. McLeod goes straight into the takedown, but before the linesmen can come in to break it up, Burish gets his composure and starts unleashing on McLeod's face. McLeod, who probably thought the fight would be over after the drop, came back with some vicious shots of his own.
I'm not sure about this one. I'm thinking McLeod should get the win because of his takedown and his return fire, but Burish's punches just looked shattering. What do you think the result should be? Try to ignore Burish's a-hole smirk on the way to the box.

Ouch
McLeod got rocked.
He returned fire, but not with nearly the same impact. That looked painful.

McLeod lost
imo. Nice to see Svatos level Burish with a clean hit later in the game, however. If everyone on the Avs played as tough pound for pound as Svatos we'd be set. As it is, most of the other guys on the team look like they are figure skating out there.

Re: McLeod lost
Did anyone expect Svatos to turn up the physicality this year? I think we all expected from big man Wojtek Wolski, and he hasn't really done that. Here and there, but not consistently. Svatos is tossing his body around now like he's Canadian or something.
