It Must Be Opposite Day
From the NHL Closer section of Deadspin, just below a video featuring a completely naked, Conn Smythe-winning Ron Hextall:
Colorado goes into San Jose and beats the Sharks, 3-1, to climb within a point of third overall in the Western Conference. They've been missing their top three players for the last three weeks. Jose Theodore has better numbers than Rick DiPietro. People wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people.
For all the bitching and moaning we've all been doing this season, I guess it's important to remember that things could be oh so much worse. Hell, even without the Three Esses, the Avs have seven more points now than they had at the same time last season.
These hats are making my feet sweat.

Anyone see this article
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/column...
I know its a couple days old but if you do down near the end of the article at top story line 3, he talks about the Avs and Q being a canidate for coach of the year. I typically don't like Burnside (though not nearly as much as some people), so i'm a little biased. Is he crazy or are we?
Re: Hmmm
I must have missed this.
I'm definitely going to do a post about it. Thanks for the heads up!!

Burnside Prophesis
Not to hard
IMO, the team has excelled though this injury-riddled success DESPITE Coach Q., not because of him. The constant line-juggling, the special teams, the mistakes like Arny taking critical faceoffs, his insistence that Richie has no place on this team, when everybody knows he does, his defensemen-as-forwards experiment, his goalie-go-round, his under-use of Hlinka (IMO), etc. are all things that are coaching decisions that have bit the team in the ass more than they have generated in kind of benefit.
