PrintThe current tournament over at NHL Logos is between goalies for the best mask. Peter Budaj is facing Henrik Lundqvist in the first round and it's super close. Too close. As of this posting, Budaj has a 35 vote lead (1229 to 1193).
Do your part and vote for him. Remember, his mask is awesome. He's got Ned Flanders on the back and the character from Assassin's Creed on both sides, which is nerdfully cool.
UPDATE: As of 2:00 PM Eastern, Budaj's lead has increased to 130 votes, so he may have this one locked up. The poll closes today.

Too bad
The tourney of Logo's didn't show the good pics of Budaj's mask. The best stuff is on the side and in the back.

In the comments section I added a link to multiple shots of his mask. And other people brought up Ned Flanders as well.
With the poll ending today, I think Boots may edge this one out.
His mask
His mask is pretty sweet, and it has 1371 votes now, it should win. But the best mask in the Avs history had to be Roy's most recent mask (99-2003 I think). With the smirking mountains on the sides, there was just something about that evil smile......and they were mountains, that was just sick.

It's official
Boots has won 54% to 46%. I'm a little surprised it was that close because while Lundqvist's is a nice looking mask all it really has is the Rangers statue head(which i like as a logo BTW) and Rangers on the side. It doesn't really tell you anything about him like Budaj's. Budaj shows he's a cool, religious nerd on his mask.
In general i think the Avs logo is one of the best in terms of having as a central theme on a mask because they're's so much you can do with it, like mountains, howler or even have things frozen like the gargoyles on Theo's mask.

Don't forget the giant "LX" on the side for his uniform number. Also a nice touch.
I forgot about the LX
that is a nice touch, its good to see stuff different as opposed to the standard numbers every one has. I also like the fact that the Avs secondary logo on the chin is made of cement with snow instead of the white and gray of the logo, just sets it apart.
I think Theo's got one of the best masks because much like Ryan Millers(Also cool looking)its one that looks plain from a distance but when you see it close up you spot all the little details like ice on the gargoyles or the cracks in the cement foot.
