Both me and the Mrs. participate in this PR/marketing vehicle for the NHL. It generates about a half-dozen surveys about various aspects of NHL fandom including game attendence, TV viewing habits, merchindise purchases, etc. This is the time of year where they ask us to send them fellow fans of the Avalanche to generate a new pool of survey takers for the upcoming season. It's free to join and usually pretty quick when it comes to the surveys. I recommend signing up if you have any interest in the NHL and how it's trying to grow the sport of hockey in the US.
