Smyth contract scary
According to both P. Daddy and David Staples (Edmonton Oilers writer). I understand Mr. Staples might be feeling a little sad to see his old captain in a unipron, but Wyshnysky aught to know the Avs have made far worse Free agent signings the last year. I admit I was a little scared last season when he wasn't performing, but this season he's the real deal. Conclusion: Jealousy is an ugly colour.

i think it’s pretty manageable the last two years if they needed to buy him out (kinda like they planned it).

It’s not scary, but it’s a long way from being ideal. What he’s being per paid per point makes him one of the most overpaid players in the league. Please spare me the lecture about intangibles, those are built into every players contract, from Iginla to Holmstrom, yet Smyth remains amongst the highest paid. There have never been arguments from me in that he skates and works hard every shift, but this team sucks and he isn’t putting points on the board. Do we care more about effort or results?
I don't like the phrase or the concept of tanking, but this team most definitely needs a facelift and a boob job if it ever wants to be noticed by the rest of the league again.
