Funny, but I do have to say that I think that Hejduk is fairly physical for his size. Not exactly going out of his way to hit people, but he’s strong on the puck and he’ll fight for the puck in front of the net, on the boards, in the corners, etc.
He’s definitely learned to survive in a North American game. Does anyone remember when he was listed at just 145lbs during his rookie year?

I knew it was a bad idea to let Mirtle go to the game

Laff … oh sure, that sounds just like me.
I was busy making Dan Boyle mad.

Clearly, the Duke is trying to be nice and is making jokes to avoid completely embarrassing the reporter, who probably feels really stupid. It seems to end up being pretty hilarious not really because of the reporter’s mistake, but because Hejduk reacts to the mistake by being humorous and gracious (referring to Brown as a “tough customer” and a “younger version” of himself).
Yeah
The guy clearly knew Brown was #23 for the Kings and I would venture a guess Hejduk had his #23 jersey on. While it’s really a pretty bad mistake for a hockey reporter (really really bad) it was pretty funny.
I believe in Peter Budaj
