Dude, Weak
So I'm recording the game last night on the TiVo to watch when I get home. It's sometime in the middle of the third period, so I rewind to the start of the game and I see this on my screen:

Sure, it is the preview of Center Ice, but that's pretty weak. I was able to join the game about 1 hour behind 'live'. That's pretty lame NHL & TiVo.
Also, with the TiVo I've got cable cards so buying Center Ice isn't an option (only have 1-way cards around here). Seeing this just makes me even "happier" I will be saving $160 bucks again this year.

You can get the Center Ice package with cablecards. The Center Ice package doesn’t require 2-way cards because it is just an “on” switch for the additional channels and doesn’t require 2-way communication (which is required for PPV, OnDemand, etc.).

That's Bizarre
I have TiVo and I have recorded games this season, and that never happened, even w/ Center ice.
There were a bunch of weird things with last night’s game.

i recorded it last night myself. doesn’t seem like a TiVo issue but a provider issue.

a provider issue
If I remember correctly from ‘Poke has told us, I think that’s it. Something to do with a combination of HD, Tivo, and Cox (cable co.). I never quite understood it myself.

My understanding is that since I only have the 1-way cards, I can’t get the service. When I first got the HD TiVo, I was auto-renewed into Center Ice, but couldn’t watch the games, so I was refunded the money. Cox’s explanation was the 1-way cards.
I stopped trying hard at it after that, and my wife likes not having to watch up to all 40 games per week.

I'm thinking it's something to do with
MLSE, more than anything. Wouldn’t they have precedence over how their games are shown?

On my DVR
the sound was completely fubar for almost the whole first period. Was this an issue with the broadcast or is my DVR fubar?

I'm thinking broadcast
I was having audio problems for the first period – no DVR.

My sound was fine, but a lot of the posters at PPP were complaining about the sound/broadcast. So seems like it was a problem in some areas…

Mine was screwed up too, Bob. it wasn’t you. the same thing was happening on all my TVs.
very, very annoying to watch the game without sound. it really took away from the game.

I posted my complaint to TiVo’s facebook page — wonder if they’ll just delete it or respond…
