I think a couple of us called this one - Budaj Friday, Anderson (presumably) Saturday

McLeod won't get a chance to repeat his Highlander Hat Trick on Saturday.

between this (more info) and the leashes clearly being relaxed some on McNabb/Haynes, I think someone is listening. And I freakin like it.

I am honestly more inclined to go to games (and I am, just having bought tix for a couple games) with these additions. This is a product I can get behind.

I was chuckling watching the Altitude feed of the Avs/Hawks game (On Gamecenter Live’s “archive”) where McNabb kept raining on the shootout as a terrible gimmick. I don’t think you would have heard that from him last year, regardless of if it had to do with the Avs or not.

Good idea! Again, not that big of a Budaj fan, but hope he bounces back from last year and has himself a good 2009-10. And like I said in the other post…rooting against him does no one ANY good (and should get your fan card revoked)

I was at the first Burgundy and White game he was in. My friends and I were sitting there, WAITING for him to touch the puck, just so we could be some of the first to boo him. Good times.

They paid decent backup, depth market price for him. They knew what they were going to get, and I bet if they didn’t land Anderson in FA, they had a back-up plan to go after somebody else for the same price. $2.75 million for two goalies when one is a backup isn’t a bad deal at all. It’s not like we’re paying Huet-level money for Boots to sit the bench.

Avs signed him before he could be bidded on IIRC. I’m pretty sure someone somewhere would have signed him if the Avs didn’t. he showed flashes of brilliance last year and has shown he’s a competent back-up with a good attitude.

Agree Stewart didn’t do anything to set himself apart during the first few games. But at least with Stewart, I still think he can turn into something. I’ve seen enough of Hensuck to have not seen a damn thing.

When i went to the Avs @ NYR game last season i booed arnason everytime he touched the puck…and my friend said “Why are you booing him??” then i told him he sucked and i guarenteed the rangers would score with him on the ice…then guess what lol
