My NHL Reporting "Debut."
Well, I usually do news for my radio station in the northern suburbs of Chicago. But the weekend sports show host decided that since I "like hockey" (understatement of the year), that he would give up his credentials for a few games this year, and let me cover the Blackhawks in his stead. Last night against the Predators was my "debut" so to speak. Since I can't find a way to just get me audio up, I YouTubed my report from last night, complete with the mustached wonder, Joel Quenneville, answering my question about Christobal Huet finally having a good game. Let me know what you think! (I hope to do about 10 games this year, and have already put in my request to do the November game between the Avs/Hawks)

I knew it!
I followed you on LiveJournal before.
Glad to see you being able to develop your love of sports. Now, if the Avs beat the Hawks in your next report could we have a shout out or a WOO HOO or something?
I’ll see if they let me do that game….maybe I’ll follow Dater around and check him into a locker or something. I kid, I kid
That would be hilarious…..

It would.
Particularly since he’s starting flame wars on his own blog.
I have very little respect for him now.
Yeah, after criticizing bloggers in the past about stuff like that, he’s embraced it full-on. We (and other blogs) have done our best to move in the opposite direction, squelching flame wars and trolls whenever possible.
Interesting.
The Avs may (or may not) suck now, but they've still won a Cup more recently than 75% of the NHL.
Well done young man!

I have just been told that I should “expect to do the game on Friday, November 6 between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Colorado Avalanche at the United Center.”
SWEEEET! (This is going to be one of those games where it’s hard to not “root from the press box”)
Awesome ... but that game is here
I’ll be there, as a matter of fact. So you get to hit the road? I expect to hear some enthusiastic Av bias in that report …. how awesome would that be?
Hey Peter McNab, I'm starting to see sunshine and rainbows here.
