The Denver Post says goalie Peter Budaj does indeed have the H1N1 strain of the flu virus.

We at MHH wish him a speedy recovery!

Apparently Sacco believes that having the Flu can impact a goalie’s ability to perform. Coach Q must have missed the memo.

I’m thinking now that Q was hoping Theodore would spread his flu to the Red Wings and that’s why he was in net against them.

I was right. Usually the flu doesn’t keep you completely away from teammates, and make you miss road-trips. Hopefully his case was like the 2 in our family…5 days, and back to happy. Though he will need to work to get his strength back, it really saps you of energy

Yeah, when I got it in May I was out of commission for four full days and part of a fifth. It’s serious business.

Sounds like the perfect opportunity to send him on a “PR” tour to the next 5 upcoming teams on our schedule! ;)

Why did they call it “swine” flu? Was it to embarrass anyone that has it? I’d have called it Bear Flue or Piranha or widowmaker flu. What’s next? Mime Flu?

It supposedly came from swine.

Fun fact of the day

Birds, Pigs and Humans are the only three animals that are susceptible to the influenza virus. H1N1 was originally Pig based, and mutated to be able to infect Humans, which is why you hear about “Avian Flu”, and “Swine Flu” but not “Kanga” Flu the “three toed sloth” flu or the “Shiatsu” Flu, even though all three hold a lot more comedic potential.

There’s also something called the “Phaneuf” Flu, but that’s cured with penicillin.

I heard Theo Fleury once had the flu...

…the Columbian Flu.

But seriously, get well soon Peter. I had what ever Colorado variety is going around last week, and I was man-down for about five days. Not fun, but it goes away.

Mr. Anderson. Welcome back, we've missed you!
