Adrian Dater reports that Roberto Luongo will be out indefinitely for the Canucks, which means the Avs will face Andrew Raycroft in net when they hit Vancouver on Sunday.
Also, Peter Budaj is recovering and will likely play in net against the Sharks on Friday night. Makes sense.

Not that he will be much worse than Luongo has been this season.

Regardless
I’m still sure he was interfered with repeatedly last night without getting any calls. Just another part of the hated wheel’s M.O.

As expected, a Wing douchebag did aggravate Luongo's injury
He appeared to aggravate the injury in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Wings during a second period collision with Todd Bertuzzi.
And upon further inspection, the Wings were called for exactly zero goaltender interference penalties last night. Wtf is going on with the officials and goaltender interference this season? Did Bettman send out some memo saying “We no longer value goaltending in our league. Please do not call goaltender interference under any circumstance.”

Todd Bertuzzi: The douchiest of douches!

it’s because one of the canucks defenders shoved bertuzzi into luongo… i hate em both, but can’t blame either one of them for this.
Hey now
Quit raining on my douche parade.

Its all part of his master plan to increase scoring. More goaltender interference not being called + smaller pads = crazy delicious less goalies wanting to play. Its an incredibly long, drawn out master plan but he’s working on it. Truct me, It’ll happen

I thought rib injuries would keep you out for longer than a week, that’s somehting that’s going to linger all season for him.
This team will make the playoffs and upset the Sharks in the first round...it's our turn.

When do you think he’ll remember he plays hockey, and not for the avalanche? I could totally see him show up in the avs locker room.

Watch Raycroft stand on his head and play like the goalie we wanted him to be last year.

What do you mean, he was the reason we won half our games. He was clearly robbed by the NHL, he deserved the Vezina and Hart or his play last year.

I wonder…is it an advantage or disadvantage to have played with a goaltender you’re now going to face? Or neither? I can see how it’d be an advantage: you know the guy’s style and have practiced against him in net before. But the same could be said for the goaltender having an advantage since he’s faced the shooters before. I would think, in this case, the Avs have the advantage since so many of these guys are new and Raycroft won’t be familiar with their shooting style, while those that have worked with him can give them pointers.
Anyone wanna weigh in?

I’m thinking this, too.

Given Raycroft's ahem, "Training Regimen"
and the impact of same on memory, I’m not worried. In truth, he may not remember his way to the arena that night!

Play Budaj against Vancouver
1) We need Anderson if the Avs are gonna beat the Sharks.
2) Budaj Vs Raycroft…Clash of the Titans!

I’m assuming by “Titans” you’re referencing this year’s Tennessee Titans, not last year’s….
by Rather Dashing on Oct 28, 2009 3:24 PM MDT up reply actions
Budaj against the Sharks does make sense because Vancouver is a division rival and a win against them is worth more than a win against San Jose.
Mile High Hockey: Hoping for the best, expecting the worst, hating the Wings.
I cannot wait to watch Budaj play. It’s been far too long. I don’t care who he plays against. He has this thing called goal support from this team and he’s a solid goalie. I see no reason to worry.
An ounce of confidence can carry you a mile toward winning. Oh, and Red Wings suck.
I’m with you, Tex. I’ll be at the game Friday and I would LOVE to see Boods kick some ass.

Agreed x 3
This year’s team scores goals and actually plays defense; a benefit Budaj didn’t have last year. During an interview with Anderson he basically said he has confidence that the team will clear the puck from the crease for him, so it isn’t something he worries about. That is not something that could be said last year. I want both goalies to have great games. We need Budaj to be successful so Anderson can get the rest he needs. Plus, I like him. Go Budaj!
Colorado Avalanche: Please excuse the mess while we are under construction.
Raycroft
is one of 4 goalies with a better save percentage than Craig Fucking Anderson.
of course, they have 4 starts between them and Razor has 0.

Ryan Miller has also been outstanding so far this year. Team USA has a nice selection of goalies all of a sudden. Anderson wasn’t even invited to Orientation camp because he declined an invitation to the worlds for fear of injuring himself in a year in which he would be a UFA.

Smart move on his part.
Mile High Hockey: Hoping for the best, expecting the worst, hating the Wings.
Might not be Raycroft...
Canucks called up Schneider, and he’s not having a bad year at all.
