Fellow Detroit Haters: Assemble!!!
I'm usually one to stick to my SBN home over at St. Louis Game Time, but I come with an offer you can't refuse!
Over at Game Time, we like to mix things up as much as we can, via Project Mayhem. Currently, our efforts are being focused on ESPN America's current internet vote. The topic: which game they will air live on Friday November 27th. The options: Redwings vs. Flames and Thrashers vs. Hurricanes. Now, we Blues fans have a saying that we like to use quite often. However, since I'm a guest here and don't know MHH's stance on language, I'll translate it to Swedish: "Fan Ta Detroit!" Which is exactly what we're trying to do. However, the poll is rather stacked in the Evil Empire's favor (last time I checked it was 61.89-38.11), so we want nay, NEED your help, Avs fans! We know you guys love to hate the Redwings just as much as us, and while we may not always see eye to eye, I hope you'll join us and recognize that the enemy of one's enemy is one's friend!
For those of you who don't know, ESPN America is an international channel, so no one in North America will be effected, but if any Detroit fan in Europe has a terrible evening because they don't get to watch their team play, then really, don't we ALL win?
Here's the poll (right side of the screen, might need a little scrolling).
Fan Ta Detroit!
PS - Paul Stasny is on my fantasy team, so thanks for being awesome so far this year!

Wait, we have a stance on Language?
I’m boned.
Bills fan? In Colorado? It's more likely than you think.

We do, but it’s pretty easy going, some other site aren’t as forgiving, so he was working on the side of caution. Don’t want to offend the group your asking for help if our language policies had higher standards.

I'd like to add one important note
… you can vote as many times as you’d like… there’s no limit.
Just thought that’d be, you know, handy to know….
Carry On!

I should say, my desire to stick it to Detroit is so strong that I actually went to an ESPN web page for the first time in eons

One thing...
I’m all for voting against the Red Wings (I already have voted a couple of times), but will this really upset Wings fans?
Both games start at 7 PM EST, the game will be aired live, so that’s 1 AM in Sweden.

Well, at Game Time
We have a few Euorpean Blues fans who like to stay up late and join our GDTs when they can, even if they can’t see the game. So with so many Euros on Satan’s Detroit’s Satan’s team, I’m sure they have their fair share of late-night fans.

Vote totals
My vote did little to change the numbers, so we’re looking at good voter turnout, but I’m sure ESPN will assume there was a glitch because there just can’t be that many hockey fans.

I was going to post it at PensBurgh, but they have a one-day waiting period after joining.
If anyone wants to take it other places, that’d be great! So far, it’s been posted at St. Louis Game Time, Second City Hockey, Anaheim Calling, The Copper and Blue, Canes Country, Birdwatchers Annonymous, and here – at least as far as I know.

My question is, when the flames play the Wings, what is the correct MHH rooting stance. I feel I have to root for calgary because they would be my second favorite team on this particular night, but my emotionalism just wants some sort of Douchecapade to erupt upon puck drop, resulting in a bench clearing brawl and a ref decision of forfeit by both teams, giving each team a loss, and no points.
On a completely unrelated note, I think I just wrote the longest sentence ever.

My thoughts as well…only I keep hoping for a meteor or some other large object to fall from the sky and land upon the arena in which the teams are playing.
Do I worry about the number of innocent people in the stadium? Not really since fans of Les Ailes de Rouge and the Flamers can’t really be considered innocent.

That’s a usual reaction, yes.
I actually don’t hate the Flames as much as some people do here, so I always root for them when in doubt in Division games unless they’re playing the Avs.
Bills fan? In Colorado? It's more likely than you think.

I'll reluctantly root for
the Wings. The Avs are in a division race with Calgary and need to be dealt as many losses as possible. Detroit’s hovering around middle of the pack and presents no playoff threat at this point.
