When i toured the Guinness plant, they said it was chosen by a local artist a long time ago and there were a few rumors why it was chosen. One, at least the one i remember, is that it looks like a guiness, the black as the body and the white being the beer’s head.

There is something you need to know about us here in Denver. We don’t really start cheering until the second period. See, the thing is, first period, no one is drunk. By the second period people are getting buzzed and are more likely to cheer. Third period should get louder.

I think they have on the power play, which is about the only time I would suggest we try it. I want our kids to get used to being on their respective lines, the 1-2-3 punch at centers.

it really matters which line is feeling it each night. if duke and Stats aren’t clicking or being shutdown, and the 3rd line picks it up, sacco has no problem giving the 3rd line more time. each of our top 3 lines has real potential to be game-breakers

Budaj haters? He’s a backup. That is a fine backup performance. Not a starter performance, but playing like that 10 times a season is ok for me.

This. I figured going into the season he’d give us 20 games or so of average to above average goaltending, and that is a nice player to have. Although it sure doesnt look like he’s going to make it to 20 starts at this point, does it?

Good night for Budaj...
Not a good night for Chris Stewart. Easily the worst game he’s had since he came back from Lake Erie. Not really much else to say about it, a bad game for him. Svatos looked good, but he still took his standard stupid stick penalty at the end of the game. Overall he still had a very good game, but you can’t take a stupid penalty with a lead late in what seems like EVERY GAME for not knowing what to do with your stick.
On the other hand, Budaj had the kind of game you want out of a backup goaltender, although Phoenix helped him out by missing a couple of open nets. “Hejduk played well at both ends of the ice” almost doesn’t even need to be said at this point, it can just be assumed. He looks REALLY good this year. Duchene also the last couple games seems like he’s getting his legs going and getting comfortable, and he’s creating chances the way he did in the first few games. Everyone’s said it, but the goals are going to come for him if he keeps playing the way he is.
I still don’t like the way the Avs play out of their own zone with the lead. It seemed like the Duchene line was the only line playing in the offensive zone most of the game, but it worked, I guess. Overall, a better performance.
