West Coast Blues

It's 64 degrees in Santa Monica right now and I feel pretty inconvenienced when I have to put on something more than a long-sleeve t-shirt to deal with the Southern California winters.  So you'd think life would be pretty good for me.  Au contraire, bonjour.  Because unlike many of the lucky ones, I only get to see the Avs' 3rd periods.

Star-divide

To make it worse, office hours are from 10-7 and Los Angeles traffic doesn't help get me home earlier, either.  Yeah, I've got the DVR, but I'm not patient enough to actually wait for the final score when it's there at the click of the remote.  So as soon as I waltz in the door, on goes the Avs and my winter doldrums begin.  I think our inability to hold onto a 3rd period lead has been pretty well documented, but for all the west coast fans out there, maybe Joe Sacco should consider playing his 4th line a little more in the 3rd.

It's just a theory and if you want me to start spouting out statistics to back it up, well, touche.  I'll have to invent a stat to justify my position (I'm looking at you, corsi numbers).  But maybe, and this is just a maybe, our guys are getting gassed in the third.  And no one here, no reasonable person, wants to see David Koci on the ice.  But maybe if it gives some of our decent players a little bit of a breather, maybe you let him off the leash and pretend to play hockey.

How in the world did you get to watch the 3rd on reg TV last night?? Was it because I was in OC that I got hosed on that issue?? Or was it cuz I have freaking Time Warner? My friend got to see it too. I turned to the stupid channel he was on and it was…black. The whole stupid screen. Literally blacked out. Grrrrrrrrrr. Luckily I had lovely MHHers to patiently deal with my hysteria and walk me through getting an online feed up.

Oh, and man up Rev. It’s not really that cold. ; – )

Internet stream. I assume it was completely legal. They check those kind of things, right?

i’ve no idea of the legality of it. found out via the SBN blog for Ducks that it was a broadcast error.

I'm in Toronto, aka Centre of the Universe

I feel for you man.

My problem is I rarely get the games on TV, and if it is, it’s on at 10-11pm. Not good when I wake up at 6am for work, etc.

I need a new sig, since i think I cursed ORLY by promoting him.

Hey, at least you only have to watch the 3rd periods, and don’t have to get your hopes up when they go into second intermission with a lead, only to lose by two in the third.
