It’s kind of sad how lost I feel without a recap to read. Seems like I have no idea what happened in the game.
Forever grateful that Joe Sakic isn't a douche bag like Brett Favre.
Teams played a slow defensive style game in the first period (and most of the game). First intermission came with a 0-0 score and the teams combining for just 11 shots.
Wolski scored in the second period. He went to the net received a great pass from Stastny which he quickly buried. Avs up 0-1.
Later, in the same period A puck was deflected high, Duchene grabbed it, and tried to shoot the rebound was sitting in the crease were a crashing Hejduk beat the defenders to the puck and snapped a shot into the net. Avs went into the 2nd intermission with the all dangerous 2-0 lead.
3rd period: The Blue Jackets were bringing the heat to the Avs (the BJ announcers said they weren’t worried because the Avs don’t play in the third period). Chimera crashed the net after getting a step on Foote, and Foote deflected the puck under Budaj. (2-1). The BJ’s kept coming, Budaj made a big save and kicked the puck out, Wolski got to it first and fed a pass to a streaking Stewie who walked down the left side and had a shot slip past Mason; 3-1. BJ’s kept coming and a scramble in front ended with the puck deflecting of the knee of JML and into the net. 3-2. Late in the period, the seconds ticking off the clock and the BJ’s seemed to score the game tying goal on a scramble that got Budaj a little too far out of the net…but wait the goal would be reviewed. As Budaj was sliding away from the net, Quincey was sliding into it. He got his skate against the post to block the puck and the reviewed showed the puck slid under the lifted net…NO GOAL! Avs held on in the final seconds to claim the victory.

Was at the DU game..
Just watched the 3rd period of the Avs game and most of Calgary/San Jose. Goddamnit, Sharks.
