They are pretty fair.
The last couple of Avs games pushed the Nuggets on ALT 2 since the Nugs were playing shitty teams.
Hopefully #9 is not ten less than #19

Duke looks like a quiet guy, footer’s the type that gets into the young guys faces when needed. It’s not like Foote is meant to be the long term answer: Stastny, Duchene or O’Reilly will be.

They closed down one of the 4 main highways that go to the city for the past two years and it re-opened up today. It’s been a nightmare for 2 years for anyone living out west.

I gave Adam Foote a lot of shit earlier this year for having feet of cement, and looking like he was in slow motion. But the defense with him in, compared to the D with his out is WORLDS different…Budaj has barely had to work tonight. And the best way to help a goalie have a good game is to make sure the shots again are harmless. Good to see, and Budaj is thriving the last 3 games because of it
Except a lot of the shots haven’t been harmless….that being said the D has made some good clears in front of him.

used to hate him...
and was glad to see him go at the time. BUT, his replacement was horrible (the guy that lasted a month), he redeemed himself mightily when Mike Haynes went down with the brain injury in the playoffs. It was really cool he came back to call Avs games, and we won the first series too.

Indeed. He’s stepped into the net and given his team a chance to win in almost every game he’s played this season. And I don’t want this to turn into “Boodz rebownz R teh suck!” But, I don’t like how he’s sprawling out flat and ending up belly down trying to coral his rebounds on those scrums in close. That’s just asking to get burnt on a rebound shot. Right now, he’s placing the initial shot in a place in which his defensemen can get to them. He’s gotta stay down in his bfly and in position for a second chance. But, be confident that his defense will take care of him.

Boods is moving laterally very well. He’s a tall goalie and uses his wide stance to get from post to post quickly when up. But, he’s also making smart decisions with when and how far to slide when down.

I think I voted for 40-45 points this season. We already have 40 with how many games to go? I’m really happy right now.
An ounce of confidence can carry you a mile toward winning. Oh, and Red Wings suck.

This is the last long road trip, I think. There’s one more stretch with 6 of 8 on the road, but with the 2 home games in the middle.

It’s crazy to think that Stewie has gone from AHL demotion to fourth liner to a first line RW that’s putting points on the board in just a couple of months.

3-1-1 on the road trip. At the beginning of the year did you think the avs would be 3-1-1 at any point during the year (preseason doesn’t count).

This sounds about right. Maybe flip Budaj and Stewart, Stewart just completely dominated the first half of this game.
I’ll always be in favor of a goalie getting the number one star on a 35 save shut out performance.

not that one, rookie of the year. So far Van reimsdyk (sp?), Bergfurs (sp? again) and Dutchy are 2 behind Tavares. Earlier this year I thought that del zotto was a shoe in or VR from philly would do it, but they are trending down (IE sucking—stat-wise at least, I haven’t seen them lately). So:
1. Tavares, by a lot right now
2. Duchene, coming up quickly
3. ??del zotto it’s hard being a rookie dman or Bergfors (still don’t know about the sp?) don’t know too much about him.

tough to say seeing as he’s a defenseman…unless he’s putting up bobby orr numbers, i don’t think we’ll hear much from him

not sure the gap between Tavares and Duchene is all that wide right now. I think it’s going to come down to Tavares, Duchene or JVR

I was just about to post that the Avs have 4 rookies in the top 20 in scoring. Duchene, O’Reilly, Galiardi and Ryan “Mitch” Wilson, who has 1 less point than Victor Hedman and is a +7 to Hedman’s 0.

and waaaaay fewer minutes. Not to mention no power play time like Hedman.
BTW, Wilson like lead the OHL in defensemen scoring and was voted in the coaches poll two years running as having one of the hardest shots. So, you know.. on the power play he’s an option. Wolski is on fire lately but he’s got zero goals on the PP when playing the point.
But a few games ago he did assist on two PPG’s by shooting on net….
I still think a hard shooting D-man would be better on the point, but so far this season, Wolski on the point hasn’t been bad.

apparently all of wolskis goals are at ES this year, unless maybe tonight??? I swear I saw that stat on the screen at some point. Os him on the PP is no bueno.

The Flyers as a whole have been struggling. Tonight, they lost to the Habs 3-1. And they outshot the Habs 15-13. That must’ve been a snore of a game.

other than Duchene has the Denver media(and let’s put the denver metro area at 3 mil or so) following him while Tavares has that long island media (and the ISLAND’s population of 7.5 million of which I’m sure they are all rabid Islander fans). Duchene is going to have to beat Tavares’ points by at least 5 and make the playoffs and have the islander’s keep their current pace (11th in the east).
