Not like we didn't know it already, but Bert is honored with having the gooniest of goon moments in the past 10 years. I wonder what kind of trophy he gets for that...

actually McSorley is suffering from major complications after having surgery to replace his hip 3 weeks ago. it’s pretty serious, in fact. not to put a damper on the joke or anything, but he’s a friend so i feel the need. fwiw, his career ended because of that incident whereas bertuzzi’s didn’t, so it’s not quite the same thing. still pretty douchey, i know.

I only used him because I couldn’t remember Downey or Laroque’s name right away. I have a 33 kings jersey someplace around here. It was a bummer how it ended. Hope he recovers well.

I watched all 10 of those, and to believe that Bert only got what really amounted to about 18 or 19 game, and was welcomed back with open arms (and still morons like Red Wing fans that defend him)…travesty of NHL “justice”…I have seen a lot of cowardly things in my day. This is one of the most if not the most cowardly act I have witnessed

FWIW, in the comments, a handful of RW fans said they’re ashamed the Wings have him on the team now. One even said he stopped being a Wings fan because of it.

That was the general feeling amongst the Wings fans that we were sitting with when we went to that game in Oct. Most of them actually didn’t remember why we hated him but remembered quickly when reminded and most did say that they really thought that he shouldn’t be playing the game. I got most of them to boo along with us whenever he touched the puck. Good Times!!

Hopefully he gets the “Steve Moore” Trophy, which carries with it the opportunity to forfeit any and all of his earnings subsequent to his “award winning performance” to his victim 80% and 20% toward feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless and suchlike.

Watching that video again just makes me want to walk up behind Bertuzzi and “Tawna Harding” his knee’s. In my case though I’d end up in prison. It’s disgusting that he’s still playing in the league.
