I love this picture. Just a reminder that while everyone is slinging shit at each other about who to trade and who not to and whose blocked shots mean more, this franchise still has a future.

Thanks!
Yes, let’s keep posting “other” types of content so that those of us Avs fans still interested in enjoying the Avs and hockey can still do so.
More like we can relate to the losing player. AM I RITE?

Not true! I laughed…and agreed with Hardshell! (And his idiosyncratic spelling, I thoroughly enjoyed).
I am not all about positivity, actually; rather I’m pretty realistic. I also value my time and energy. So I plan on enjoying the Avs and MHH whether or not the Colorado Avalanche is known by all (not just CBS) as “one of the worst” teams in the Western Conference. Hey, if PPP can have a group therapy session, why can’t we? If people want to vent, I don’t care. I just think it defeats the purpose of enjoying the game when people with limited access to information and with personal biases (like all of us) try to dissect the value of this player over that player, especially when it means trashing some other fan’s favorite player. Life’s too short not to spend laughing. Were people really arguing over whose blocked shots meant more? Whew! Glad I avoided that thread.

I would rather laugh than cry.
If life makes you scared and bitter,
At least its not for very long.

Oh god no.
very dissapointed in you, I absolutely despise emos and would never write anything from an emo song, it’s an insult to music everywhere. except mainstream hip hop and pop but thats talentless anyway. They are from a great song called "Slumber’ by an even greater band called Bad Religion.
Very, very dissapointed.

Bad Religion

I like pretty much all there stuff. i think they’re still just as good as they were 15-10 years ago. They are a stark contrast to the new music like Fall Out Boy and Panic At The Disco. I have a hard time seeing them and other mainstream commercial hits existing in 20 years where as bands like Bad religion and Pennywise are still cranking out good, meaningful music after 20 years.

Never got on the BR train. No disrespect to them, just never got into ‘em. Now I’m in my early 30’s and can’t find any decent new music. Life sucks sometimes…
Colorado Avalanche: Gellin' and Propellin'!!!
Do what I do
Look for decent OLD music. I download good stuff all the time, plus find it from my friends, even buy it occasionally. go to allmusic.com and enter in a band you like. It’ll come up with other bands like that. you can spend days finding new stuff.

My students complain
about the music I play in class so I tell them to bring me new stuff, I’ll preview it, and if it’s civil I’ll add to the play list. To date I have received Rush and Rammstein. Even the kids know the stuff they listen to is crap.
That reminds me, I need to get some BR into the playlist…

I recommend
“Suffer”. Its what you want the kids to do anyway, or you wouldn’t be playing your music, right?

PS
so far my favorite album of 2008- Galactic’s “From the Corner to The Block”. Its their New Orleans Jazz Funk feel but with a lot of guest lyrics by hip hop guys. Quality stuff.

Galactic
I saw them live at the LoDo music fest in ‘99 or so. they were excellent. I lost their album I had but always enjoyed it. I should pick it up (I’m going on a music shopping spree this weekend for my Birthday)

New Stuff
there’s some good new stuff out, but not much in the “Bad Religion Pennywise” style. I listen to guys like Ben Folds, Guster, Jack Johnson (you know relaxing stuff).
But I still like some of the harder stuff. I like Bad Religion, Social D, etc. If you want decent newer stuff I’m a fan of Rise Against.

Good Punk
Died a while ago, although Tiger Army’s pretty good. How’s this for relaxing- I just got the best of Otis Redding. I’ll check out rise against…. torrents FTW, at least until my ISP shuts me off.

Yeah Rise Against is pretty good, I’ve got some of their stuff as well as Strike Anywhere. Nothing beats the old 80’s punk bands, Minor Threat, Social Distortion, Bad Religion and Penywise all rule.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Social D and mike ness’s solo stuff lately. Saw them with tiger army a few years ago; they still rock it.

Social D
I have Live at the Roxy. Excellent CD for anyone who didn’t have any other Social D. I love it.
