DirecTV: Asleep In The Booth

I've been a DirecTV Center Ice customer for years. For the most part, I'm happy with the service. But, they seem to be good for a screw up once or twice a year that forces me to miss a game.

Today seems like one of those days. The Avalanche are on Altitude today at 3pm eastern. DirecTV seems to think they are on NBC and so don't have the game listed on any of the Center Ice channels. I have a sternly worded email out to them (okay, less on the "sternly", more on the "worded" part), but I'm not sure if it will be in time for them to fix this boneheaded mistake.

I love how it's all about how bad the caps were

Not only that

out of curiosity I went on the Caps’ website and listened to the Theo interview. Not one time did he acknowledge that he played a terrible game. I have a lot more respect for people who have the integrity to say “Hey, I screwed up” when they did. Oh that’s right, I never did have any respect for Theo; this just reconfirms it.

P.S. I’m really sorry about your arm. I hope it heals fast. Hockey withdrawal must be just as painful as the arm!

well, it’s the day after and the players seem to be responding to direct questions about their own play. they were shown video earlier of all their mistakes during the game and then asked a little later (after practice) by tarik (post reporter) what had happened, so they all just seemed to be focusing and owning up to their bad plays and mistakes. in the first round of stories out of the washington post, there was talk about the combo of both good avs play and bad caps play.

and i’ve been following the caps a lot this season and usually they do play a lot better. they’re up on the pens right now, 3-1.
