Very interesting
and some of it is funny as well…some of it not so…
A couple of my favorites from the list:
7 – TEMPERMENT VERSUS AUTHORITY: Roy has locked horns with Mike Vernon in a bloody fight, was suspended by the NHL for cracking Warren Babe in the shins, won a power struggle with Mario Tremblay, has taken on the entirety of the QMJHL several times, and slayed Jeremy Roenick in a verbal ust. Brodeur has scored two empty net goals.
9 – GUTS, BALLS, ETC: Roy had his appendix removed during the 1994 playoffs. He missed a game and returned three nights later, stopping over 50 shots in an overtime win. Brodeur pulled a muscle in his bicept in 2008-09, missing 50 games.
MHH: Like the Avs organization, we’ve now officially lost our minds.

My favourite's
probably this one
3 – NICKNAMES: After his second Montreal Cup, Roy’s nickname went from Casseau to Saint Patrick. Brodeur has no nickname, but plays for Satan’s team.

Isn’t it enough that they’re both awesome goalies?
Probably enough.
Brodeur tried his hardest to ruin my fantasy season this year but I managed to scrape by with Chris Mason and Clemmenson.

NO, It's not
Pick a side because no-ones likes a fence sitter.
Seriously though, I have nothing against Brodeur as a goalie, I think he’s ridiculously good and one of the best of all time (Roy’s the best) I just think he’s an arrogant douche canoe.
Also, If you add up there combined regular and playoff wins Roy still has him beat by about 60.

I think
A lot of non Avs fans thought Roy was an arrogant douche canoe, or worse…
I’ll always like Roy more, naturally, he played for the Avs, but I’m not bothered that Brodeur got his record. Better him then some mediocre talent like Osgood if he played behind an amazing D his whole career.

But the way I see it is everyone knew Roy was arrogant, he came out and said it in interviews and by raising his glove after most saves. Brodeur has the annoying subtle arrogance where he trys to act like he’s not which is worse IMO. Look at his interview after he got the record, he was saying crap like “I want to be in a class of my own” and “I want to set a record no-one will beat”. It’s arrogance that just annoys people. Roy never wanted to set a record that wouldn’t get broken, If he did he would have played a few more years.
