Stastny Injured
The injury bug is in full swing:
“Paul Stastny blocked a shot yesterday. He has a foot injury,” said Granato. “He didn’t skate today, so we’ll see how he is tomorrow.”
Darcy Tucker is also hurting; apparently he sat out last night's game due to back spasms, not general suckiness (a cheap joke; Tucker has been playing better lately).
In addition, none of the three injured defensemen - Tjarnqvist (head), Foote (head) and Salei (foot) - sound like they'll be back on Thursday against Edmonton.

I saw
That play where Stastny blocked the shot. He went off the ice limping a little bit and i thought here we go again. But whatever if we win thats great, if we lose its not a big deal. Keep on winning Thrashers, Lightning, Coyotes, and Islanders!

I remember it also. It was right after Hannan blocked a shot and was stung by it. If I remember right, he pretty much turned his back and stuck is right leg out. What a way to end the year…Jonathan Tavres welcome to COLORADO!! :-)

The shot I saw him block
I commented in the GTD that he went down in a squat position and turned his back toward the shot…looked like he knew he needed to block it, but was afraid he’d break something….

This news is.....
Pretty good. Let me explain…
It doesn’t sound serious, and the Ti4T train can keep rolling along… With any luck, we could be in 2nd slot. Like Dater said in one of his recent articles (one of his rare good points), do you think that Washington was sad to suck so bad and then get Ovechkin? Do you think that Phoenix wishes that sucked as bad if not worse so they could have him?

how can you possibly say that this news is good?
It’s an INJURY. The fact that it has a redeeming factor in that Tavares has bigger chances of becoming an Av, are compensated by less tickets being sold.

This sucks in the regards that it is yet another injury to another star player. Stastny has already missed a large number of game and to have him out again is not a good thing.
Now in the sense of the whole Ti4T thing, which I disagree with personally (no team should even “tank”, it does allow a young player to get some ice time, it will probably lead to more losses, and that improve our draft chance. However I will still for the Avs to play a strong game and with any luck they might win. Still play a strong game….win or lose.

I agree
Regardless of who is on the ice, I want to see them play a strong game and try hard to win, if they actually do thats even better. I am sorry to hear that Stats is injured because you should never be happy that someone is hurt and because he is an exceptional player and I genuinely enjoy watching him skate and I would prefer to miss as few opportunities to do so as possible.

I agree too
The Ti4T gives me perspective on the loses. For example, I would have really been pissed before at that last goal in the Wild game, the one where Hannan not only screened Budaj but also deflected it in (I don’t know, I have something about a team scoring agaist itself that typically bugs me). Anyway, now I don’t really get all that mad. I do agree that I expect them to play hard and compete, because that is just about having integrity and a work ethic. If they do that and lose, then I just look to Ti4T to ease my pain.
