PrintJoe, Mile High Hockey's MIA overseer, is celebrating his 30th birthday today. While juggling the pressures of law school, everyday life and things like not completing the top 19 Avs list, he's still trying not to let the big 3-0 get him down. Everyone, take a minute and toss him a birthday message...and try not to make him feel old. He is the extra-special birthday boy, after all. He deserves it.

I was going to do a Today In Colorado Avalanche History for this, but since the cat’s out of the bag, I’ll just say happy birthday, Joe!
Hyphens cause writers more trouble than any other form of punctuation, except perhaps commas.

I had this bitchin’ b-day present set up for Joe.
I had gotten all of the Top 19 Avalanche Players to each sign an individual puck and then had the whole thing framed nice and neat, but I can’t send it cuz I don’t know the order of the last 6 pucks!!! Oh well, I guess I’ll just send it to DD instead.

You are missed around here but of all Avalanche seasons, you picked a great one to go to law school. You’re not missing much (besides the heartbreak).

So that's the real reason behind this season
Joe is really some big insider in the organization and since he ISN’T AROUND due to law school, no one in the organization is filling his job. He comes back to work today, and the Avs make a trade. The picture is so much clearer know.
