Leopold Headed Back To Calgary

Jordan Leopold is on his way back to Calgary. The Avalanche have traded Leopold to the Flames. Coming back to Colorado:
- Ryan Wilson
- Montreal's 2nd round pick (ironically, acquired by the Flames in the Tanguay deal)
- Lawrence Nycholat
Nycholat seems like a warm body, as he was just acquired on waivers yesterday. Nycholat is a Calgary native who will be joining his 3rd NW team in 3 days.
Wilson is a free agent signing for the Flames last summer. He's described as an offensive defensemen, although I know nothing of his pedigree. [UPDATE: Here is a 3 1/2 year old profile on him from HF]. For the Quad City Flames this year, Wilson has 20 points (4 goals, 16 assists) in 60 games.
It seems like a 2nd round pick for Leopold is the key here and sounds about right, with the Avs getting a couple of other potentially useful players in the deal as well. We were using the Brad Stuart deal last year (a 2nd and a 4th) as a barometer, and it looks like that was pretty close.

What did we get for Tanguay initially? Was it just Leopold for Tanguay straight up? Or did we send them a pick or get one?
Just trying to see if we came out good in the end on that one…
GO AVS!!!
we got 2 seconds. 2006 (Cody Burki) and 2007 (Trevor Cann)

Interesting
is this another one of those situations where a team has decided they shouldn’t have let a guy go?
Leo hasn’t been bad here, but his sudden injuries have been a problem in Colorado.
MHH: Like the Avs organization, we’ve now officially lost our minds.
I'm The Canary - but I'm not cute nor cuddly, and I don't sing.
I gotta say
Initial reports on Ryan Wilson aren’t looking that great but I guess its more about the 2nd round pick
yes, the pick is the key.

Right now, at this very moment
Somewhere in Denver Chris Osgood is breathing a little bit easier.

Exactly. I was just about to say our chances of winning tonight are just about zero.

Yep
Not to mention the fact that the team is in full blown Ti4T mode. I can’t say that an Avalanche team has ever sucked this badly. Ever.

I think you’ll see the Avs play a little better once the deadline passes
