Joe may be the face of the Avalanche
… and rightfully so, but Lappy is most definitely the heart (and nose) of this team. If it turns out this summer that we don’t resign him AND Joe retires, I really don’t know what I’m going to do with myself.

hopefully these won’t be the last thanks either.
seeing as I barely watched, did anybody get on camera with a re-sign Lappy sign or anything last night?

I didn’t have time to make the sign last night (was home for 15 minutes before we left), but I am making it for Sunday’s game. It will have the above picture, plus the one of Lappy looking to the sky on it. Maybe they will show it Sunday.

Dear God help me....
If they don’t resign him I give up……… I’ve been an Avs fan for 10 years, but if they do this, I’m done. I’m close enough to say that I’m a Sharks or Ducks fan……..

I nominate this as the official song of this Lappy commemoration post
1,000 Thanks made me think of it. We will have fond memories of you Lappy, always.

There's something in my eye
How am I supposed to hate your team when you post stuff like this?

I have been a Lappy fan since the St Louis Blues drafted him
in the 7th round and pick number 158 in the 1992 draft. I still have his rookie card and named my oldest son after him (shhhh, my wife thinks we named him after her Dad).
I love Super Joe but Lappy is exactly the type of player fans love to cheer for. He plays with his heart on his sleeve every night and will do what it takes to help his team win. His accomplishments on ice aren’t always quantifiable or listed on a scoresheet, but his contributions to winning teams throughout his career have been invaluable. He clearly loves to play the game.
Thanks Ian, from one hockey fan to another.

Simply Awesome
Ian Laperriere is my favorite athlete ever. If the Avs don’t re-sign him, I will die a little inside. The guy is just a tremendous human being. There’s no other way to put it. Even as a straight male, I fully admit to having a man-crush on Lappy. He’s one that I consider “untouchable” moving forward. This team needs him.
I’ll say it again – the guy is just a tremendous human being. There is nothing more that needs to be said.
List of Prerequisites to be Denver Broncos QB:
1.Don’t EVER compare yourself to Elway, and we’ll make sure we don’t either. 10 years is enough time to heal.
2.Don’t make our ownership or management have to call YOU time after time.
3.Don’t piss off Mr. B, he signs your checks.
4. Try your best, we’ll support you if you leave 100% out on the field.
5.Neckbeards are REQUIRED as of 4.2.2009
