The Avs not making the playoffs again, tends to indicate a
lack of talent. Sakic's injuries were also partly the blame.
If you take a look at the NHL's star players Alex Ovechin is on a playoff
team in Washington, and Mikka Kiprusoff has put up a lot of wins
in Calgary.
The highest ranked Avs in terms of goals are Ryan Smith and Milan Hejduk
at 48th and 49th with 26 goals. If you take a look at the NJ Devils they have
Zach Parise with 44 goals second in the league, and Jamie Langenbrunner
with 28 goals.
I really think blaming Granato isn't where the problem is. The Avs simply
do not have enough playoff talent, or the horses to make the playoffs.
