It was a win-lose situation last night. By winning, the Avalanche lost ground in the Standings Of Suckitude. Tampa slides down to the 2nd spot (Colorado owns the wins tiebreaker). The Avalanche have all but secured at least a top er...bottom three finish; one more loss by Colorado or one more point by Atlanta and the Avs a guaranteed no better than a 28th finish. However, it'd be nice to finish 29th to guarantee a shot at one of the big three (Tavares, Hedman or Duchene). If the season were to end today, we would know that there is indeed a God. No, that's not right. If the season were to end today, the Avs would have a 14% shot at #1, a 56% shot at #3 and 30% chance at #4. So, hold off on buying those Hedman jerseys for the time being.
