Svats done for the year
Well, I'd guess this hardly surprises anyone. Least it isn't his shoulder or a knee. probably would have only been a few weeks if the season weren't about done anyway.

Compare to Stastny
Before all the comments about how injury-prone Svatos is, I’d just like to point out that Svats has played in more games than Stastny during the last three seasons. Just barely, but still, people never seem to talk about Stastny in the same way as when people devalue Svatos for not being able to play because of injuries.
Svatos GP ’06-07 through ’08-09: 197
Stastny GP ’06-07 through ’08-09: 193
Svats vs Stastny
You make a very good point. I think the difference is that Stastny’s injuries have been the type that are far more likely to come back at full strength from (broken bones). Svats has been hurt with ligament and tendon damage, which is a lot more nebulous.
all in all though I agree. Svats and stastny can both fall into the “injury prone” category.

Stastny injury prone? Hardly
Stats played all 82 his rookie year. Last year he missed time due to the appendectomy, but not hockey-injuries. He had a rough go this year with the broken wrist, but that happens. It was a freak play where the puck just drilled the bone. I wouldn’t call him injury-prone. Definitely not in the same category as Svatos.
List of Prerequisites to be Denver Broncos QB:
1.Don’t EVER compare yourself to Elway, and we’ll make sure we don’t either. 10 years is enough time to heal.
2.Don’t make our ownership or management have to call YOU time after time.
3.Don’t piss off Mr. B, he signs your checks.
4. Try your best, we’ll support you if you leave 100% out on the field.
5.Neckbeards are REQUIRED as of 4.2.2009

Well
Yeah, that’s why I said that Stastny’s injuries were better looking. But Stastny only had the Appendectomy after missing ~15 games with a broken wrist.
And why should non-hockey injuries be excluded from “injury prone”?

Last year?
Did he break his wrist last year? Guess I don’t recall that.
Perhaps I should have changed “non-hockey injuries” with “illness”.

Hmm
Maybe it was a separated shoulder,. I don’t remember exactly what it was, but he had nearly come back from the injury and then the appendectomy happened.

strange
Maybe I’m worng, but I swore Stastny was fighting off another injury when the appendectomy happened last season, but I can’t seem to find a link to it. Maybe I was wrong.

I think he tried to come back from the appendectomy and pulled/strained his groin.
MHH: Like the Avs organization, we’ve now officially lost our minds.
