Rumor says Roy offered coaching job
From Rotoworld via the Denver post:
According to several sources close to him, Patrick Roy has been offered the head coaching job of the Colorado Avalanche.
He is said to be mulling over the organization's offer. The Avalanche and Roy are remaining fairly tight-lipped about the process though and neither have commented on the situation since Roy left Colorado after their meeting with president Pierre Lacroix almost two weeks ago. Currently the coach of the team is still Tony Granato, but if this rumor is true he may not be for much longer. Stay tuned.
I'm not sure how I feel about this

Roy?
The whole idea of bringing Roy to the Avs is fairly good in theory, but would be unlikely
to help the Avs make the playoffs, because their roster is so lacking.
The Avs need to work on the GM situation, and player personnel weather Roy is the
coach or Granato.
JS Giugere is probably available at goal. The Avs need to get more aggressive in the
free agent market to put together a playoff caliber roster for next season.
