Screw Job

Late Tuesday night, Roy phoned Avalanche president Pierre Lacroix to tell him that, because of family reasons, Roy will not accept the Avs' offer to coach the team this coming season. Roy will continue with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, but said the door is not shut on his returning to the Avs at some point in the future.  - Adrian Dater

Yep, this offseason is shaping up really nicely. Thanks Pierre!

A few updates:

Roy, who would not reveal details of his conversations with Lacroix, said he mulled the offer for two weeks before making the decision.

Remember, Roy was in Denver to "visit his friend" Lacroix just over two weeks ago.

"All I can say is that the Avalanche's offer was more than interesting," Roy told a news conference Wednesday inside Quebec City's Colisee.

In other words, the GM stuff had merit.

I tell you what, if we end up with Pierre McGuire and Mike Keenan, I am quitting

Unfortunately

I’d be on that bandwagon. I had to mute the Redwings-Hawks because McGuire wouldn’t shut the hell up!

MHH: Like the Avs organization, we’ve now officially lost our minds.

All aboard the Billington and Granato/Cloutier 09-10 train!

One down, three to go

They probably told Roy that he needed to keep Cloutier behind the bench…and all of the sudden Roy’s kids had “things to do” and “new careers to try”

Is it classified as a wreck if the wheels fall off while the train is sitting in the garage?

Now be fair...

This organ-Ization has spent a great deal of time and effort over the last years and especially over the last weeks building momentum for this precipitous plunge off the cliff. They most certainly have been careening downhill bent on annihilation of this formerly proud franchise.

Awwww we luvs u Jibbles but you’ve become a meme now.

Funniest thing

My boss calls a screw-up on the computer a jibble.

If it wasn’t for the fact he’s not a hockey fan, I would be convinced he’s a member here.

all I know is that all this excitement is keeping me away from my in-depth analysis of Tyler Arnason

Pretty please?

One fears that he will...

and promote Cloutier to oversee the final destruction of the organization.

OK

Well, I’m officially heartbroken over the Avs …. and Roy not taking the job. Is that allowed?

time to crank up the fire on another dancing chicken

well when KSE finally figures out that its PL that is the one killing the AVS and not so much FG or TG, maybe then Enus Stanley Kroenke will do something about it. all i have to say is DONT CALL CRAWFORD!!! if they bring that jerkoff back i’ll seriously consider finding a new team. I’ll never pull for anyone in the NW, nor would i in a billion years root for the 313 wings thats as close to treason as it gets without being a crime. hmmm i hear Newark has a really respectable team and a helluva dude in between the pipes. anyways all i say is dont go hire Matt Millen as GM and dont go hire Marc Crawford or thats the end of the line for the Mile High Puck Experience

Just change the second "F"

to a “T” and you’ll be good.
