Hedman may fall to third?
Speculation from Dater's blog that Tampa wants to trade one of their stars to a team that wants Duchene.

Stop it.
I’m not listening.
If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding! HOW can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?!
Now that I think about it
For Tampa to deal an All-star and the 2nd pick sounds crazy.
The only thing I can think of is if Tampa takes Duchene themselves.
Who are they gonna trade?
Other than Montreal, who would trade for Lecavalier and his ridiculous contract? They traded all of their tradeable pieces last summer, and the Habs don’t have anybody to trade. If I’m not mistaken, like half their team is UFA’s. I don’t see anybody willing or able to deal with them.
"Horton is win."

they wouldn’t be trading the pick. the speculation is that they will trade St Louis or Lecavalier for prospects and draft Duchene

it seems like any one of the big 3 would be a consensus first overall in most other drafts, so it’s hard to get really worked up over the thought that the Avs might lose Duchene. Duchene does seem like a perfect fit for the Avs, but man it would be great to see Hedman patrolling the blueline for the next 10 years. How odd is it that Tavares going to Colorado would seem like a disappointment?

Someone on Daters post seems to think so….
duchene will go number one, tampa will take hedman, and we’ll get the stinker of tavares
MHH: Like the Avs organization, we’ve now officially lost our minds.

I know this is weird
But I really don’t want Hedman. I’m scared about giant prospects that “need to learn to use their size more.” Didn’t he have a weak WJC too? And Tavares seems to have a weird attitude too, though I don’t see much chance of the NYI passing on him.
I really want Duchene. I’m praying TB fails to trade Lecavalier or the #2 and takes Hedman.
Those who would trade for Lecalverier or St. Louis can’t for want of a) cap space b) anything of worth to send back to Tampa.
Hedman would not be a bad booby prize, but Duchene is where it’s at since he has all the pieces. While Tavares looks to be much more talented than the Baron and while the Baron has made major strides defensively, I do see lots of similarities between Tavares and the way the Baron lit up the OHL. At the next level, not so much.
Too lazy to make a fan shot

Highly-touted centre Matt Duchene (#2) looked relatively solid but he will need to get much stronger. The 18-year-old’s body also needs to mature a little more for him to be an NHLer.
Get rid of the loser point
08-09 Avs- can we decline the penalty?
Duchene tanking it!
in the weight room for the Avs!

God Forbid!!!
If recent history has proven nothing else, it is that the MOST dangerous place for an Avalanche player is in his own team’s weight room (although in his own driveway on a snowy day came in a close second)!
Where is my tv remote control!!
Move over Svats – we need to make room for Victor!!
Colorado Avalanche: Please excuse the mess while we are under construction.
