Bad, bad, bad Wiki
Where tf is Deader on that roster? He’s in the picture. He played on a line with Sakic and Young, iirc. And Klemm played forward during the playoffs that year.
I’m a lot older than most of you youngsters. I was way out of college, living in Seattle, married, sitting on a loveseat with my wife that we moved within about 5 feet of our 27-inch TV for every game of the playoffs for this moment. Because I already had been a long-suffering Colorado sports fan for years and years before this happened, including a fan of the old Colorado Rockies hockey team, I may have shed a slight man tear for this. Or not.

geez, didn’t they screw up Deader’s name on the Cup too?

man
what a different roster that was
back in the days when old race horses spent their last year or two here before being taken behind the barn to retire
I just want Drury back... I recognize the Drury->Morris->Statsny chain, and I stick with the statement.

I wasn’t really following the Avs back then, but I remember talking to a friend during the day at work and I jokingly said that Uwe Krupp would score the winning goal. There was no ESP involved – I just liked to say Uwe Krupp with a bad German accent.

(the only part of the game I saw was glimpses on the TV when my wife and I were at Applebees for dinner)

Ole' Yeller
What about bringing ole’ Yeller back next year? Woudln’t he make a great 3rd/4th line center? It’d be nice to have him taking the face offs for us again. We could probably get a great deal on him too.

I love that idea
and was really pissed when we didn’t go after him this year. He only made $750K this year, so he ought to be pretty affordable. The only question is whether or not BOS wants to keep him and whether he would choose to leave a team loaded for bear (pun intended) for our sorry state.
And yes, I would take him over the Stache, though it does pain me (slightly) to say.

This was the reason I started being an Avs fan. First year I start paying attention to hockey, and they win it all. GO AVS!

Unfortunately, I was in Spain at the time and didn’t get to watch any of that season or the finals. I guess the NHL isn’t very big in Spain because it wasn’t even covered, and during my time there I saw two superbowls and 1 NBA final.
I had started watching the NHL a few years earlier and had really gotten into it in ’94 during the playoffs. Previously I only knew hockey from going to the Las Vegas Thunder (IHL) games, and watching it in the Olympics.
MHH: Like the Avs organization, we’ve now officially lost our minds.

Speaking of Marc Crawford
The guy formerly known as "Where is Bob Hartley?". Because it's never going to happen. And no one knows where he is.
