Today In Colorado Avalanche History
June 13, 1987 - Draft day, Joe Louis Arena, Detroit. The Quebec Nordiques trade Dale Hunter and Clint Malarchuk to the Washington Capitals for Gaeten Duchesne, Alan Howorth and their 1st round pick (15th overall). With that pick, the Nordiques draft a forward from the Swift Current Broncos: Joe Sakic. [I assume the player with Sakic is fellow Burnaby native Chris Joseph, whom the Penguins drafted 5th overall].

WHOOPS
If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding! HOW can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?!
Man, Sakic was young then
Now he’s a grizzled vet. Still can’t grow a beard, though.
