SBN Mock Draft Kicks Off On Tuesday
Mirtle is hosting a round 1 mock draft over at From the Rink. Festivities will kick off quickly, with the Avalanche choice getting unveiled tomorrow. I'm not going to spoil the surprise, but I am curious about something. Obviously, the Avs' choice will depend on who goes 1st and 2nd...but which of the big three would you most like to see drop to #3 (not who do you think will drop, but who do you want to drop).

I picked Duchene, just because he’s a better fit for our needs imo. We simply must get faster and add that goal scoring ability we lack. Hedman would be my second choice, god knows we could use a #1 D man.
Tavares would be slightly worrying to me. His attitude, average skating ability, lack of a well-rounded game…I’m sure he’ll be a great player, but I don’t think he’s as good a fit here.
But frankly I’ll be happy with any of the 3.
We'll know PL is lurking
when someone votes for “Other.”

Hedman
I like any of them, like everyone else, but I think big stud D-men are harder to come by. Plus, I think we are going to have another great pick next year to pick a forward with.
Get rid of the loser point
08-09 Avs- can we decline the penalty?
giant stud defensemen also have a ridiculous bust rate. if there’s one thing this team doesn’t need above all else, it’s a bust.
Ah, but top three draft picks don't
We’ll see which stat will prevail, and I agree we don’t need a bust. Honestly, I’m almost dead even between Hedman and Duschene. The thing that makes me want Hedman is our D-corps already has a coupla highly priced “busts” we might be able to get rid of if Hedman panned out.

I think we need an honesty poll
Less “who do you think the Avs will draft” and more, “who would you draft if you could for sure draft any of them”.
I don't believe in Peter Budaj.
when we asked this before the lottery, Tavares had 47% of the votes…

Good point.
At least this shows fans already getting behind our likely prospect.

it shows we are easily swayed

My vote on this is obvious.

Trade down? Draft one of PL’s relatives? Then rinse and repeat next year?

I’m pretty sure Avs will somehow trade away their 3rd overall pick to retain the rights for Darcy and/or Tyler.
How jaded have I become...
when these comments don’t cause me to chuckle but to pause and consider their proximity to reality.
That’s not jaded. It’s step 4 of 12 on how you live with yourself and still muster the testicular fortitude to be a fan of this team.

I’m not sure I want to really know what the other 11 steps are……
MHH: Like the Avs organization, we’ve now officially lost our minds.

well, the last one’s ‘profit’ so no sweat there
I just want Drury back... I recognize the Drury->Morris->Statsny chain, and I stick with the statement.
