Deadmarsh to return to the Avs?
It seems the nostalgia tour could be continuing for the organization as Dater reports that Adam Deadmarsh interviewed with the team for a management position.
Deadmarsh up for management post
His playing days are over, but Deadmarsh has interviewed for a management position with the Avs organization, the team confirmed Wednesday.
Avs vice president Jean Martineau said that while Deadmarsh is not up for the team's vacant second assistant coaching position, he has interviewed for another management job and is being strongly considered.
Is it possible he could be coaching in LE next season, or is there still a vacancy somewhere in the main office?

Question: Could organization nepotism accidentally result in a good fit in this case?
2008-2009 Colorado Avalanche: Dry Humping Mediocrity
report on HF from a "friend"
says he’s hired for video coach and director of player development. sounds good to me!
How is it nepotism if they're not related?
Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought the only person in the organization related to PL is his son. Does that really qualify him as a nepotist? I could maybe see how you could make that leap if Eric didn’t have tremendous hockey experience inside and outside of the organization.
It's a play on the term nepotism
Meaning PL only goes for people related to the organisation.

ok understood
For me though, I don’t see this as such a bad thing. When you only hire poeple that you have a familiar working relationship with tends to contribute to an efficiently run project/ organization. I’m in charge of staffing consultants at my work and I always lean towards somebody that I’ve worked with before. They know what I expect, I know what they are capable of and there are no suprises. Early in my career I had no choice but to bring in outsiders and it worked out about 50% of the time. It’s not too difficult to understand that those projects were less successful. I’m not saying that this strategy is the only way to go, but it’s a good one.
I can agree with you to a point, it’s nice to go into the office and not worry about arguing with anyone and getting along. But that can go to far and you get stale and stagnant and you have a whole lot of yes men in the room.

They had to — it’s in the Avalanche’s Official Mission Statement

Deader
Is definitely an ex-Av who I wouldn’t mind seeing associated with the team in some capacity. I loved how he played.
MHH: Shagging Dater one contributor at a time.
He was also a very underated fighter. There were very few that could switch from left to right punches like he could (Tie Domi comes to mind). I think it would be great if he comes back in some capacity. In my mind, even though he was in L.A., he was always an Av.
Really?
I wasn’t aware of that. It makes sense. My favorite memories of him was when he would kick Darren McCarty’s butt almost everytime they played Detroit.
yeah
apparently his dad sent him to boxing classes for much of his childhood, that’s why he was always beating the tar out of people

Not if my Time Machine is completed
If only I can go back in time and complete it earlier.
