Matt Duchene: Flirting with first
"During the biggest summer of his life - thus far - [Duchene] attended the NHL combine where players get put through physical tests and rigorous interviews with teams' representatives.
In those interviews Duchene tried to educate the teams on what kind of person he was because he believes that character is just as important as his on-ice skills. He even made trips to New York, Tampa Bay and Colorado to check out the cities of where he will likely become an NHL star."

All the pre-draft buzz is making me think we are going to get Hedman (not that there is anything wrong with that) due to Duchene maybe going first and Tampa doing something weird like trade with Toronto so Burke can get Tavares.
Still, I would really like to get a potential superstar center rather than a potential superstar d-man (Again, not that there is anything wrong with that). Maybe the Avs need two high first round picks. Or several a la Penguins.
Complete opposite
I love all of these hype leading up to the draft (honestly, no sarcasm)… but when it comes down to it… I’d be SHOCKED if it doesnt shake out like we all thought it would for the last 2 months. Tavares to the Isles because they needs his NAME to sell tickets as much as they need his talent. Tampa Bay needs a defenseman in the worst way…. they couldnt create a better fit than Hedman if they tried. That leaves Duchene to the Avs (which is what would be best for all parties involved anyway).
A lot of weird scenarios come out in the days leading up to the draft… just remember that most of the time its just people keeping themselves entertained in the offseason!
Cheers,
Matt

I think Hedman goes 1st or 2nd and the Avs will end up with Tavares or Duchene.

That is what I like to call “deductive reasoning”.
The guy formerly known as "Where is Bob Hartley?". Because it's never going to happen. And no one knows where he is.

If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding! HOW can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?!

Should I put the crack pipe down or...
Am I crazy to think that Hannan to TB for their two 2nd round picks (32 and 52) might be a good deal for all concerned? They are in dire need of defensemen with only 2 guys signed who played any significant time last year.
I’d also take either of their 2nds for Clark (and would probably prefer that). Hell, I’d probably let him go for their 3rd.
HOW ABOUT
Clark and Hannan for their 1st and the 52nd pick
Pujols takes out "I" in BIG and "A" in MAC, previously considered to be an unyielding, consonant threat
The 2nd round picks are OK, only getting a third would be a huge undervalue IMO. Just because he’s not a favorite doesn’t mean they should ship him away for a bag of pucks. Unless we’re talking about Arny or Tucker.
2008-2009 Colorado Avalanche: Dry Humping Mediocrity
That was likely some exageration (sp?) on my part, but a substantial portion of the value to COL in that scenario is the salary cap relief. Maybe Clark is not the incarnation of defensive suckitude that we saw last year. Maybe it was all the idiocy of Cloutier. Maybe I’ll win Powerball this weekend.
Anything can happen.
