Dater: Sakic Has Made Up His Mind

"Avs GM Greg Sherman just told The Denver Post that Avs captain Joe Sakic met with him last week and that Sakic has made up his mind what he’ll do next season.
BUT that no public pronouncement of what that decision is will be made, at least for the next few days and quite possibly longer."

The delay doesn't sound promising

why hold off the announcement other than to possibly sell more season tickets? Is there any other reason?

keep the news away from the positives of the draft and free agency as well as allowing Joe’s announcement to get the coverage it deserves

Hyphens cause writers more trouble than any other form of punctuation, except perhaps commas.

He made a comment that he was like 80% sure on what he was going to do and I assumed it was retire and he did just that. Sakic is done.

At the same time, in every interview he HAS done this summer, he still refers to the Avalanche as “us” and always talks about people on the team as “we.” Could be just a coincidence…but if he really has worked hard to get himself back into shape, I still say he calls this his final year…especially since Stevie Y wants him on Team Canada
