Hyphens cause writers more trouble than any other form of punctuation, except perhaps commas.

Hmm, given his truly great performance last year (he pretty much kept them out of competition with us for dead last), I’m a bit surprised by this. 1 year, yeah, OK, but I’dve thought they would have offered him at least $4M.
